How Nicorette® Microtab works
When you stop smoking, your body can start to miss or crave nicotine. Many smokers find the first few days after quitting to be the most difficult.
Sudden urges to smoke can also strike weeks or months after quitting. These withdrawal symptoms will pass, but there are ways to manage them in the meantime.
Nicorette® Microtabs are a form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), which means they release nicotine into your body to help ease cravings.
Each Microtab releases 2mg of nicotine through the lining of your mouth as the tablet dissolves under your tongue. This relieves your withdrawal symptoms without giving you the buzz’ you get from smoking.
NRT products can double your chances of quitting successfully compared to willpower alone, so it s well worth finding one that works for you.
How to use Nicorette® Microtab
Nicorette® Microtab can be used to help you stop smoking immediately or to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke each day before stopping completely. The number of Microtabs you take depends on how many cigarettes you smoke per day:
20 cigarettes or fewer one Microtab every hour.
More than 20 cigarettes two Microtabs every hour.
Heres a step-by step guide to using Nicorette® Microtab:
Place the Microtab under your tongue.
Allow it to dissolve this should take around 30 minutes.
Do not chew or swallow.
Most people take between 8 to 12 or 16 to 24 Microtabs per day. Make sure you don't exceed 40 Microtabs per day.
Adults aged 18 years and over shouldn't use the tablets for more than 9 months in total, while children aged 12 to 18 years should use the tablets for a maximum of 12 weeks in total.
For adults using NRT beyond 9 months, it's recommended that you ask for help and advice from a doctor, nurse or pharmacist.
