How Nicorette^® Inhalator works

When you stop smoking or cut down the number of cigarettes you use, you might experience cravings to smoke or unpleasant withdrawal symptoms as your body misses the nicotine it s used to absorbing. This can be a sign that your body is dependent on nicotine.

Nicorette^® Inhalator works to relieve cravings and nicotine withdrawal symptoms associated with a dependence on tobacco. It s a form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) that provides a low level of nicotine to help reduce withdrawal symptoms without any of the tar, carbon monoxide and other chemicals contained in tobacco smoke.

How Nicorette^® Inhalator works:

• Air is drawn through the inhalator when you inhale with deep or shallow puffs;

• The inhalator releases nicotine, which is vaporised;

• Nicotine is absorbed through your mouths lining into your body;

• The inhalator releases nicotine, which is vaporised;

• Nicotine is absorbed through your mouths lining into your body;

Less nicotine is released from a puff on an inhalator than a drag on a cigarette, so it may be necessary to inhale more often than when smoking.

If you re aiming to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke, you should use the Inhalator to extend smoke-free periods. If you re aiming to stop smoking immediately, you should replace all cigarette use with the Inhalator and reduce the number of cartridges you use until stopping completely.

Nicorette^® Inhalator ingredients

Nicorette^® Inhalator contains the following ingredients:

• Nicotine;

• Levomenthol;

• Porous plug of polyethylene

Each inhalator cartridge provides about 40 minutes of intense use, which you can divide up how you want.

For example, you could use it for four 10 minute intense inhalation sessions or eight shorter five minute sessions. When you have used up a cartridge, you ll need to replace it with a new one

A Nicorette^® 15mg inhalator contains 15mg of nicotine per cartridge. The maximum daily dose is six cartridges per day.

The amount of nicotine released with each puff on the inhalator is less than a cigarette, which is why you may want to inhale more often than when smoking a cigarette.

Yes, you can use Nicorette^® Inhalator to help you reduce the amount of cigarettes you smoke before attempting to quit. You can use the inhalator between smoking episodes to extend your smoke-free intervals.

You should generally use an inhalator for up to 12 weeks. Over this time, you should try and reduce your usage in line with a quitting plan until you no longer need to use it at all and are completely smoke-free.

Pharmaceutical waste should be returned to community pharmacies.

For adults and children 12 years and over: Insert cartridge into plastic mouth piece (as directed), inhale through mouthpiece as required, using a maximum of 6 cartridges per day.

Nicorette 15mg inhalator is used to relieve and/or prevent withdrawal symptoms and reduce the cravings you get when you try to stop smoking or when cutting down the number of cigarettes you smoke. It provides a safer alternative to smoking for both the individual and those around them. Ideally you should aim to stop smoking.

However NICORETTE^® 15mg inhalator can be used in a number of different ways, either to completely replace all your cigarettes, or if you do not feel ready to stop smoking completely, to replace certain cigarettes and therefore help you cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke. It may also help increase your motivation to quit.

You are more likely to quit smoking when using this product with help from your pharmacist, doctor, a trained counsellor or a support programme.

Dispose of sensibly. Dispose of any cartridge that has been inserted into the mouthpiece within 48 hours even if it has not been used.
